News Update for January

Scaffolding is coming down after the re-building of one chimney and reinstatement of another on this Grade II cottage.  It has a new thatched combed wheat reed roof covering and new joinery throughout. The whole project will have taken less than a year from appointment to completion. The secret to this seamless process was the booking in of trades at the time of purchase, the clients put down a deposit with the thatcher, the joiner and the kitchen manufacturer to ensure a smooth transition from granting of consent in August to discharging planning conditions and Building Regulations approval in October.

This scheme is a good example of how clients are able project manage their own projects from a distance whilst maintaining high standards and cost control.  The choice of a good local building contractor is key.
