Tarrant Crawford Barn

We were approached by Morgan Carey Architects to carry out the heritage assessment for this early engine house and threshing barn in advance of an application to convert the somewhat ruinous building into a 5 bedroom dwelling. The application site, within the historic site of Tarrant Abbey and a post-medieval farmstead associated with Tarrant Abbey House, contains nationally important historic buildings and archaeological remains.  The site is adjacent to a Grade II* abbey barn and abuts a scheduled ancient monument so a thorough archaeological evaluation of the impact of development on the significance of the heritage asset is key.
