News Update for April

UWE Architecture & Planning students in Lyme Regis

What we’re working on this month: March

 Four final year UWE students of Architecture & Planning are being mentored by Angel Architecture and were shown works in progress on the scaffolding at Lyme Regis seafront. The works have been carried out with listed building consent to replace sash windows with laminated glass and new lead flat roofs with cast iron rainwater goods by local joiners JWJ and Rowsell Roofing.

What we’re working on this month: February

We have now lodged planning applications for The Old Post Office in Walditch, and scaffolding goes up early this month on The Alcove, at Marine Parade in Lyme Regis. Work on this property will consist of joinery repairs and repairs to the lead flat roofs. Work continues on Tudor House (above), which was the core of the former Tudor House Hotel, subsequently divided into four dwellings in 2002. Scaffolding coming down at Rose Cottage, Wootton Fitzpaine

What we’re working on this month: January

Happy New Year from Angel Architecture! Scaffolding is coming down after the re-building of one chimney and reinstatement of another on this Grade II cottage.  It has a new thatched combed wheat reed roof covering and new joinery throughout. The whole project will have taken less than a year from appointment to completion. The secret to this seamless process was the booking in of trades at the time of purchase, the clients put down a deposit with the thatcher, the joiner and the kitchen manufacturer to ensure a smooth transition from granting of consent in August to discharging planning conditions […]
