Re-imagining Bridport Museum for its Centenary: Feasibility Study for the potential acquisition of the Literary and Scientific Institute (LSI)
The centenary of Bridport Museum in 2032 represents both a milestone and a moment of reflection. The Trust is seeking to improve organisational resilience, resolve longstanding collections storage challenges, and create a sustainable operational model. This commission is, therefore, not about design in isolation, but enabling a clear, informed decision on a complex and strategically important question. We are particularly interested in this project as a local team who care deeply about Bridport’s cultural heritage.
The Museum, the LSI building and the wider historic town centre are places we know well and value as part of the civic and cultural life of the town. This gives us a strong sense of responsibility to approach the study with care, rigour and realism. We will provide the Trust with a structured options appraisal and robust feasibility study that clearly sets out opportunities, constraints, risks and next steps, enabling Trustees to make a confident decision by July 2026.
