We are now in a Catch 22 situation, a dichotomy of weighing up the green agenda against the need for new housing. Personally I think the Government need to take back the power and save the planet rather than contributing to putting greater strain on our rivers and wildlife habitats and cherished, tranquil landscapes by encouraging house builders to build on the periphery of our historic towns and villages.
The Council needs to hear the views of local people and refuse applications for these massive housing schemes which no one wants and will destroy the character and appearance of our valued historic settlements.
