This quirky community sport makes me think about the cultural traditions here: Dorset knob throwing, nettle eating, rolling cheese down hills and carrying burning tar barrels through the street on November 5. Why do we watch or take part in such weird activities?
Because everyone likes to do something slightly challenging whether that is as a participant or as an onlooker. Personally, I am really interested in all kinds of local groups which focus on being in nature, learning a new skill and also being appreciative of the environment and ecology.
