Looking back on my career and what I have achieved in nearly 40 years of working as an Architect, this can be attributed to three things, talent, hard work and luck. All three contribute to success but can be stressful and do not necessarily guarantee happiness.
The most important message is that we have a moral duty to give back to society. I am privileged to support a local school which conducts mock interviews for Year 10 and Year 12 students studying for GCSE’s and A levels. Professionals from across the area are invited to have 1-2-1 short interviews with individuals to listen to their aspirations, and to provide positive feedback to students, tutors and parents, encouraging them to strive for a rewarding future career path.
