It is so hard for architecture students to find work in their year out. In the old days it was a case of who you knew and you could easily get a placement. Now there is no network and students have to cold call.
Anita came from Kingston upon Thames School of Architecture on a fact finding weekend to explore rural practices. Are there more opportunities in the country than in London – perhaps?

The architectural training is so arduous that many fall by the wayside because their year out experience is not all that great.  As an architect with over 30 years of experience, I have seen the difference it makes to invest in the next generation of architects to support their transition from student to professional, particularly with the added challenges of a global pandemic.
