West Bay chapel reopens as visitor centre

When the West Bay chapel reopens to the public on Wednesday 1 August as a visitor centre, it marks the latest stage in the life of a modest but remarkable building. ‘It was built in 1849 as a simple place of worship for shipbuilders, fishermen and their families,’ said architect and historic buildings consultant Kim Sankey of Angel Architecture in Charmouth.
