Environmental destruction and the loss of nature to development is not new.
This concept has been immortalised in the Big Yellow Taxi written by Joni Mitchell in 1970. The current housing estates under construction on the edges of our towns and villages continue to eradicate farm land and wildlife habitats, contributing to excessive rain water run off and pollution of our watercourses.
