Tackling multiple projects simultaneously can prove quite difficult, but fortunately, we have a team of reliable colleagues who are managing their own areas of expertise. We are part way through a survey of a house near Stogumber, designing alterations to numerous listed buildings and writing reports to support these with input from our building surveyor, tree consultant and historian. In attendance of the RIBA Summer Social, the practice gained insight into various professional perspectives on architecture and heritage. With talks from Purcell, Bristol City Council, as well as a guided tour of Grade II* Listed St George’s by Ben Neil, from the Chair of Trustee’s. Originally built as a parish church in the 1820’s, St George’s was re-established in 2017 as a concert hall, comprising the conversion and extension of the original church to cater for a transformed performance space and dressing rooms, including innovative storage solutions with fantastic acoustic qualities. Angel Blog – Week 20

What a busy week it has been with a site visit to Eastbury House to see the works in progress for the means of escape from the first floor of this Grade II listed residential care home, and visits to two new projects, one in Sherborne and one in Broadwindsor, where we already have two clients.  We also received listed building consent for internal alterations for a listed rope workers cottage in Bridport.  It’s great to be busy but it would also be beneficial to stop and take stock occasionally.
