This week has seen the very swift turn around of two projects both in pre-app status, one in Dorset and the other in Somerset. Both Councils have excelled themselves with Somerset performing within days of validation and Dorset some weeks overdue. We can forgive tardiness if it results in a mutually satisfactory conclusion. Both schemes now subject to applications for householder planning and listed building consent.

The great news is that pre-app actually does work when a collaborative team are engaged and communicating well. The next project to be submitted before Christmas by contrast will be challenging, getting the drawings finished and annotated for pre-app and then to complete the statement of heritage significance with valuable input from Peter Child, highly regarded historian and vernacular building specialist.
