There’s reason to celebrate this week as we have successfully achieved the refusal of two major planning applications in South Somerset, Castle Cary and Keinton Mandeville. Their reason for refusal of 46 and 30 dwellings respectively focused on the adverse impact to agricultural land and wildlife outside the settlement boundaries.
Collaborating with supporters of the natural environment involves heritage, ecology and arboricultural consultants. Our report found that the identified heritage impacts arising from the proposed development would amount to ‘less than substantial harm’ at the highest end of the scale’, which in NPPF terms is still real and serious harm.
